Hope you kind loonys can help me again

Recently purchased yet another disco this one been a 1997 on a P 300TDI ES auto.

Now everything did work on it with no probs ok tis a bit tatty on body but everything else sound.

Now for some reason the cruise control has packed up. The light comes on on the dash swith but nowt else seems to happen.

can any one tell me what the common causes of this could be and how easy is it to fix or shall I just bung a house brick on the loud peddle.

I would like to fix it as do a lot of miles and car is lovely otherwise.

Check the vacuum hoses first, then check brake light switch. Check vacuum pump and solenoid valve are working. Then check continuity from the switches. Nearly forgot, check the bellows on the throttle assembly.
