Probably mine too - and it does have the fan - but the wring to it and the relay connected to it are definitely not original. Cut in several places, different cables and DIY fuse holders inline with relays. Not sure why now though if it is standard.
Yes, I think that is likely to be the case.
I will say again gearbox oil cooler fans were fitted as standard from MY 1999 and on automatics.
