Was about to change front pads but pistons are badly corroded if i push them back in will it damage the seal.oh and land rover never heard of a dust boot?.

chances are they will be ok ,but id think about buying some new calipers very soon
 
I split the callipers and fit stainless steel pistons and new seals.
Easy enough to do if you are competent.

As did I, on both our D1's - stainless steel pistons should last, literally, for ever :). new calipers will not :(. Clearly, it is your money - but £50 is worth saving for something else IMHO - and you'll learn something in the process too :)
