Took my bumper off tonight, started chipping and sanding at the internal bit where all the muck gets thrown from the front wheels and I got bored. So I took it to the galvanisers. Its getting shot blasted and dipped and will get it back on Friday.

Was just wanting to see what you guys thought would look good after its been dipped, just respray it matt black, or you think it would look good left as it is. Its a white landy, I was looking for pics of ones with a raw metal finnish but couldn't find any.

galv bumpers look ok, but the galv taints, its personal choice, paint it if yer want, leave it galv if yer want, your call ;)

Don't you have to have special paint or primer for painting over galvy? 'cos ordinary paint dosn't stick to it very well.

depends on your landy colour. grey, red, yellow, orange, white go well with black. dark blue, dark green all can go with galvanised/silver colours.

yes grunter you need to get a special primer to cover the galv first, something like etching primer, then paint away, whatever colour floats yer boat ;)

Got it back today, just got it shot blasted and then didn't bother with the galvanizing for now.

I figured, I get it really clean i.e. the shot blast, then a good coat of red lead (done), so tomorrow a few cans of spray paint and it should be looking good!

It looked fantastic when I got it back from the blasters.

Oh and hammerite for the inside bit where the goup lies.
