Hi guys,

Just a cautionary tip - my parking sensors are fried, whenever I go into reverse they just emit a low constant beep tone. After reading around the interwebs it seems that a recent jetwash may have caused them to fail. If one goes then all the others won't work either so one or more will need replacing.

So, if you jetwash your Freeb, tape up the sensors or something!

Sorry if my post frequency is a bit high I don't want to be an ANG or anything :banplease: just thought this might help someone who is also new to Freelander ownership (or do they own you?)

Will.

Might be worth removing the rear bumper and inspecting the wiring though. Just incase its a chafed wire or water in connectors.

I jet wash my sensors, no issues from them.
If it's a freeby 1 you have removing the bumper is easy.

Remove both upper lights with allen key, unplug light bulbs and stow away safe, do same with lower lights in bumper.

Open tailgate and remove plastic cover strip that has 6 screws with star style patterns, unclip the 5 clips under it, 2 screwdrivers to prise up the inner part then lift out.
Unscrew both bolts behind the upper lights, 1 behind each light.
Undo the 2 torx bolts under bumper for the silver part of the bumper.
Remove back plastic arches and undo screw each side to let bumper come off.

Then unclip each harness for the 4 sensors CAREFULLY! The sensors push out from outside bumper to the inner bumper. Do this CAREFULLY! As they are nearly £40 a pop from the main dealer.

Give them a clean etc and check they work and you can refit the bumper as reverse of the above.

I may have had to do the above a couple of times hense i know how to get it off. haha.
