Just done oil change and new oil cooler lines went to put filter on and found I had brokern the end of the oil switch.won't be able to start engine for a few days as doing other work at Mo. will this stop the engine from starting or just get an oil warning on dash.sump is off also will I need to reprime the oil pump ?.

It's a sender unit which does not effect the engine running, the light comes on then the cable is earthed so if it's waving in he wind it's not earthed!

OK thanks for that all back together now but not going to start engine till I have new switch fitted on Monday.had a car In the pass oil switch failed and cut the fuel pump as a safety.
