Suddenly had a big overheat. Now stuck on the side of the M4. Great. Looks like the bloody rad has busted. Hope I didn't cook the engine.

Grrr.

Just past j35. Aa are on the way or some subbies are anyway.

Am out of the vehicle.

How can I tell if the rad caused the overheat or the overheat caused the rad to go?

Bleeding thing.

V8 + LPG = engine judging by this site. RAD's don't fail of their own accord on most vehicles.

Is definitely the rad. The bit on the top where the little pipe goes back to the expansion tank has previously been repaired but its completely broken now.

Bridgend/Pencoed so yer too far out of my patch.:(

How was the rad repaired previously and by whom?

I know you are out of the motor but get away from it before some dozy truck driver rear end shunts you.

No worries Ratty. Appreciate the thought.

Rad had some sort of plumbing fixing glued in. Been meaning to replace it since I bought the car. More fool me for not doing it before now!

It could be the repair failed and caused the issue, It could be another issue caused the repair to fail.

Bloody traffic camera at your location is outta action anorl so we can't sit at home and watch you.:mad::D

The bleeding subby has just called to say they're going to be 30 mins late and they're only going to take me off the motorway to see if they can fix it - don't care about my diagnosis. grr. They have no idea about how I will get my free hire car either. Well done, the AA.

Can see it being a long night. Got a hungry dog in the back too!

Fone AA and give em ****. Tell them that you are not happy that they've made you suffer in order to meet their targets. Tell then that your pet is suffering and you'll be complaining to head office in the Morning.. See how fast the recovery truck arrives.

Hey Guy ,sorry to hear about the breakdown.Would have been happy to help if I was in Alton.Hope you get home before the dog thinks you are supper or vice versa.Any way all the best for the new year, mate.

I'll give them a bit longer. They're already late for their revised arruival time. The AA said I was a priority too because of where I am and the conditions. I'd hate to be a low priority.

You too John. Have to catch up in the new year.
