has anyone got the twin britax amber beacons on their defenders? i need to fit a set to mine, and their mounting stud is bang in the middle of the lamp unit, meaning its going to foul the roof rib inside.
Just wondered if and how anyone else has got round this issue neatly retaining the lamps centrally one the roof.

My 110 has the smooth roof with the ribs on the inside. I've got a Lucas single-point mounted beacon on my 110 -

To fit it, I drilled through the roof and and the rib below it, from the outside, with a long 6mm drill.

I then used a 25mm Starrett Cutter from inside, to make a 25mm hole through the bottom of the rib.

I then opened-out the hole in the roof skin to 10mm, for the Beacon's hollow mounting stud.

I fixed the Beacon using a 25mm O/D, 2mm Thick M10 Washer and M10 Nyloc Nut, to the underside of the roof skin (inside the rib)

I used a 25mm grommet (as used with Electrician's conduit box 'knockouts') on the hole in the bottom of the rib, so that the Beacon's cable wouldn't get damaged.

I can't take any pictures of it from the inside, as I have a Station Wagon Headlining fitted.
