Plus the route you have to stick to at whitworth is a piece of cake to most seasoned off roaders. Briercliffe on the other hand you have the run of so with a little imagination you can really push the limits of your vehicle and your skills at the wheel. Following a track that a million others have at cowm doest not really develope your skills. Getting a clean sheet at a site where you can try a route with out years old ruts guiding you round really teaches you to pick a line and understand the limits of your vehicle like the travel, approach and departure angles etc.
Cowm has this potential too but you are not allowed to explore it. I am not having a go at the organisers as its more than obvious why they are put in a position where they can not just let you run riot, however it really does cap the possabilities of this great site.
Both sites offer the terrain to stop any vehicle you can build but with out using your imagination to read the land any site is only as good as you make it. This is why whitworth is more popular as people ride a round briercliffe thinking there is not much to do, when its only a lack of neon lights saying drive this way sheep thats stopping you.
is that more like you wanted to know ??? also see you tube vids
im going so it will be a good day !!! lol
