Do these go out on a classic once the pads are worn?Used to come on with the handbrake but given it up th:amen: is week.

nope thats the h/brake w/light,the worn pad light comes on and stays on,thats if you got the pads with wires hope that helps

well the brake wear light used to come on with the handbrake light(and the transmsion temp light) but know its not.The pads i had when i got it were shagged but the brake wear warning light werent on then so i think they might be worn.

Goonarmy, the orange wear light should come on with the handbrake, when the pads wear low, they make contact to ground through the disc and the light will come on and then stay on. If the light isn't coming on at all, there is probably a dodgey earth, mine is being temperamental at the moment so sometimes it comes on with the hand brake and sometimes not, then other times it flickers dimly. Just another normal day for a Range Rover!!

Yeah flickered the other day, so if they aint earthed then they aint gonna work properly then when the pads are worn?

That's right. It might be a good idea to pop off the front righ wheel and look at the wires, I seem to recall there is a ground in there which gets covered in crud, also , the wires can get damaged.

if all is O.K. at that end, check the rear, again I think the pad sensor is on the right hand wheel, so check the wires and ensure the ground is good and clean and that the wires are intact.

The circuit itself looks pretty straight forward, check the wiring diagrams in Haynes or rave.

and when i have the wheel off ill be able to check the brakes condition any way
