It looks like the vacuum pump on my 300Tdi has an oil leak around the top cover so I'm going to replace it - I've read about the bodge using silicone sealant to stop the leak, but I reckon if oil is getting past the piston seal then its time to change it...

The big question is which brand to use - I read about the genuine Wabco ones failing quite quickly due to their use of a steel bush/washer at some point. Its unclear whether they now use the brass part that some pattern ones use, and as they're at least double the price of the pattern parts, I'm tempted to fit an Allmakes one (I don't trust BritPart sorry). Has anyone on here fitted an Allmakes pump, and if so, how is it lasting???
