I'm planning on a bit of a friction refresh, front discs have a little lip on them, pads are about 1/3 left everything and looks tired so I reckon it's time for new discs, pads, parking brake shoes and a fluid change as well as a bit of a caliber refurb while I'm about it so that when I finally get the wheels refurbished it will all look spiffy again.

Looking at different options I'm wondering if any of you have particular experiences (good or bad) with what's on offer. The only thing I am pretty sure is absolutely out of scope is Genuine JLR front pads because I've seen them priced at £427 which is steep by anybody's standards I would say.

I've got the Brembo brakes as it's a 2011 4.4 TDV8 so I was thinking about Brembo discs and pads from EuroWrongParts or Maltings do a full kit for about £300 which are branded Terrafirma but I have no clue who make the discs and they are a bit showy really as they're drilled and grooved etc. It's not a race car after all!

I only ask about the Yellow Stuff pads as I think I've read that they don't dust up as much and I like the sound of that as long as they work properly and ideally I'd like them not to squeal so much but I think that's quite a common thing on these anyway.

Let's have your thoughts then please.

I just go with a decent set of pads and disks and keep the wheels clean (like hell I do) but then we mostly do longer drives with less braking so the brakes last longer where we are. I had to change the Volvo pads after 8yr because they rusted the material loose😱
