I'm just wondering if anyone can provide me with a list of all the part numbers (or at least descriptions) for the pipes on a 1983 88" (standard, no modifications apart from new chassis :rolleyes:).

I just started bleeding the brake system after the rebuild and the front-driver-side pipe from cylinder to cylinder has "burst" to put it lightly :eek:. So am wondering if to go the whole hog and simply replace all of them. But as slob would say, can't be arsed to find all the pipes me-self.

Many thanks in advanced for anyone who can be arsed (I just wish Paddock etc would provide images for more of their products...)
 
there are full brake pipe sets selling on ebay go into ebay and enter landrover brake pipes and it will pop up
 
brake pipe sets!!!! brake pipe sets! get down your local motorfactor and buy a roll of copper brake pipe some imperial unions and mek tham your sen, you will need to get a brake pipe flairing tool (ebay) then you will be able to make pipes when ever you need to even if you buy one of the 'sets' you wil still have to bend the pipes into shape round the chassis and bulkhead etc all you will be getting is a load of pipe with the unions on

Again going back to the I can't be bothered... :rolleyes:

On a more serious note, I've got to try and finish this before I go back to London in October so sets would be easier.

That I didn't realise, so your route may be the easiest. :(
 
otherwise you would be getting a fooking great box to house the front to back pipe and it would be a bastard to fit round everything i would set aside half a day and do it al in one hit, once you have one end flared with a union on fit roll the pipe via the easiest and safest route (i.e not where its gonna get hit by rocks or your prop if a uj lets go, trust me it can happen i have seen it on a transit and it made a mess) then when you get to the other end stick the other union on flair th pipe and bingo jobs a good-un

Will have to have a look into this tomorrow then. I see what you mean about fitting it around the chassis etc.

Thanks for giving me some food for thought anyway...
 
The cylinder to cylinder pipe which I bought from paddocks is a straight pipe anyway, which will require bending yourself (I assume this is probably the same pipe that comes in the kits if they are available). Has the right ends on it though so no flaring tool needed.
 
It's all-right actually, I got a local garage to make up a pipe for a couple of quid. So far no others have gone after bleeding the system.

However looks like I need a new master cylinder since there's almost no pressure build up until the very bottom of the stroke.
