I’m hoping someone can help here.

I have a defender with a disco engine the brake lights don’t work. So i have found the problem is the brake light switch which is located on the back of the brake servo. I have a brand new switch and can’t work out how to set it up. Basically if the switch is out of the servo it works fine but as soon as I screw into box the lights will not come on. I’m thinking ther4e possible could be something wrong with the mechanism which pushes the switch. please help had no lights for 2 weeks now.????

you should post on defender section ,disco engine doesnt effect brakes ,switch normally goes in back of pedal box for brake lights

yes i understand the logic of the circit and switch but the problem is when i screw the switch in the brake light dont work. i can only think this is due to the part the pushes the switch is to far foward.

no not at all. when i screw the switch in a few mmm the lights go out. its like the part should be longer. or i need to cut the switch down. its strange because the old switch was in about half way.?

no not at all. its seems to be when i screw in a few mm the lights go out. iv tryed in and out. the old one was around half way. its like the part inside is to far foward?

not sure im following you but switch if connected to wires should put lights on ,when you screw it against pedal it lights go out ,then do lights come on when brake pedal pressed
