Hi all, just brought this freelander (y reg td4) for the misses and there's a brake fluid leak coming from the drivers side rear. Any ideas what it could be... Coroded pipe maybe?

Second problem is there is a strange rotating noise coming from the rear. Thought it was a bearing but not the right whine noise, it increases when engine increases if that means anything?? Cheers for your help folks

Brake fluid leak if coming from the drum area could be a leaking wheel cylinder. Would suggest removing the rear drums as the noise could be worn brake linings, you could also check the wheel cylinder at the same time. The whine could also be the VCU support bearings, diff pinion, wheel bearings or knackered IRD as transmission noise is hard to locate.

If needed nice cheap Pagid wheel cylinders available from Eurocarparts with at least 25% discount but only on-line if you use their click and collect.

I was thoroughly pi**ed off when I went there and couldn't get the discount by just walking in off the street.

Solution - went outside - used the smart-phone to order - wait 15 mins - then went back in and paid with 25% off. Solution. Yah!
