i bought another p38 dse auto today i was planning to buy a newer one but came across a 1996 very good condition. the man who had it had it 3 yrs after getting it he had to fit a new gearbox and soon after the air suspension went down and he didnt have a clue what was wrong so he fitted it with springs . soon after it kept bringing up engine immobilised every time he went to start it he has to press the unlock button on the keyfob every time , he got nervous that it would let him down so he parked it and i bought it today at a very good price ,engine is running well gearchange is very smooth and it has good response for a diesel auto

Doesn't that depend on which one is better lubricated?
i would prefer not to give her synthetic lubricant (this thread has gone a bit sideways especially with the title "bought another") to tell the truth i am very happy with them both

That's normal on key fob to press it to get rid of message 1999 onwards recognises the key fob so no need to press .
