Booked this disco in for an MOT next week, getting welding done on it on Friday so shouldn't be any rot (fingers crossed)

Only thing I know it will fail on is the headlight adjustment. I snapped the plastic nut off from behind the headlight and can't find a replacement. I talked to the local specialist and they said I can only get it as a kit £40 which is a lot for one nut. Anyways I'm thinking of putting a wing nut on instead. Does anyone know a) if there would be any reason I couldn't do that? And b) the size of the bolt that projects from the headlight? It's a 200tdi.

Any help would be great. Thanks

Yer there's only 300tdi and td5 on eBay near me but to be honest I hadn't even thought of looking for a someone breaking.

yeah theyre pretty common for snapping mate, but a brealers yard should have them intact usually.

i did have a few spare at one point which i got from a breakers whilst i had the opportunity, but theyve gone now.

im pretty sure the thread will be M6, certainly appears that way.

a wing nut wont work that easily, cos the rod needs locating on either side of the headlamp panel, ie you would need a nut each side, which is awkward!

I've been to the breakers near mine but they don't have any discos. Unless there's a land rover breakers near Maidstone.

I think I'm pretty much stuck for ideas unless I manage to source one.

Thanks.
