I have a 1997 300tdi. I have recently returned froma great off road trip to Morocco. The abs light sometimes illuminates and sometimes does not whilst driving. I suspect it is a sensor issue. Any advice on how to go about tracking down a solution would be well accepted.

Give the sensor a wee tap with a hammer to reseat it. That fixes most problems.
