For a replacement MAF. Not sure I want to go with the cheaper alternatives on a certain auction website - unless anyone can recommend the cheaper MAF's.

the only reliable option is the VDO/siemens one

Buy a decent one, my car was flat with a cheapy so cleaned and refitted the original

I cleaned my original - it didn't make any difference. I unplugged it and there was definitely an improvement. I wouldn't say a huge improvement, but it did pull better. I have just ordered a VDO/Siemens MAF.
