In my new Freelander commercial there is a switch that prevents the battery from going flat.
From what it understand it cuts of the battery automaticly when you switch of the engine and leave the vehicle.
To reconnect and start the car you first have to press it again.

Anyone got one like it and is there any need for it?

ive got an x reg commercial and i havnt got one of them. might be different cause its the facelift? im not sure

I will take it off/out asap
I'm going to get someone with electrical knowledge to have a look first or I could bugger it up and not be able to start my car
Now that would be a kick in the teeth

Automatically cuts the power!! how do you lock it then just with the key? no alarm? no hazard warning lights if you needed em ..strange ..sounds like its a way of making it safe when parked in a gas compound / hazardous areas maybe

Hi
I picked the Landy up today and it is actually a save guard reset switch

I assume if you leave the light on after taking the key out of the ignition the saveguard will eventually shut the battery of to stop you from having a flat battery.
That button is the reset should that happen and reconnects, for lack of a better word, the battery and of you go.

The dealer where I got it from never seen anything like that before
