Can't get RAVE up at the moment. I know the alternator has a vacuum pump that piggy-backs with it (sits in front of the alternator) and provides braking assistance amongst other things. I understand the water pump and the A/C compressor are standalone. What about the power steering pump and ACE pump - are these two separate pumps (use PAS fluid) driven off the same pulley?

separate pumps, same fluid but 2 separate reservoirs, if one leaks the other doesnt

Okay, so two separate pumps drawing on two separate PAS reservoirs, but sharing the same pulley - over to the right of the A/C pulley? Water pump pulley just to the left of, and slightly below, the power steering/ACE pulley?

different pulleys, though pas pump also drives water pump from the rear of it

Thanks, so PAS pump has the collant/water pump behind it - two separate pumps but both driven from the one pulley; whilst the ACE pump is totally separate and has its own pulley!

Makes sense now! So ACE pump and the A/C compressor are both replaced with smaller idler pulleys in vehicles without ACE and/or A/C?
