I'm back here again :) Just thought I'd share the last weeks fun :D

Airbags were changed as I've already said. Then we had problems with the pump not cutting in when it should. We could bridge the relay or use the EAS unlock software and it would run perfectly, it was just as if the car wasn't 'telling' it to run.

We've been racking our brains :( Multimeter has been doing overtime, relays have been out, fuse box has been to bits and we were still no wiser :( Spoke to Datatek last night (He's been fab :D Offering support and very sound, sensible advice) but were still tearing our hair out.

Husband got home early today and we decided to take the pump out and have a look at the Valve Block Driver on the basis that we thought that the pressure sensor may have been faulty (The car would go up and down very intermittently on the rare occasions when the pump did kick in) One look showed that the fixing bolts were dreadfully corroded. We took the driver out and gave everything a really good clean up to get rid of the rust and crap on the basis that it could have been causing a bad earth. Fitted everything back, crossed everything and started the engine............

and...........

It only blimmin well works perfectly!! up, down, up, down (I've lost count of how many times!) :D Engine off, engine on, up, down (maybe I should have shaken it all about too!)

I just thought I'd post this as I know lots of people are battling EAS problems and thought that this may be of help/interest to someone :)

Ha, I did say broken wire/bad connection to the compressor a while back. Full marks for persistance and diagnostic ability.

Is your hubby now as bald as me and wandering round going " bad earth, bad earth" and occasionally banging his head on the wall? The absolute joys of Rangie ownership. Ask me one day about changing an exhaust on a rusty late(soft dash) classic, but not this weekend cos it's me michael parkinson plus 1 birthday. Looks like you're sorted just in time if the weather forecast is to be believed

Brilliant news. Glad it's all fully functional. Another successful solution for the archives.

That's the best line I've heard for a while funky kipper, or is it,in fact, a banana? Yes Andrea, what little I have is grey too.
