Does anyone no if the oil cooler on a D2 td5 auto can be by-passed?

I have a hose on its way out, and it seems that the hoses have been discontinued

Would be easy to get a pipe made up to just cross the top of the box from outlet to inlet, but im wondering if that would fry the box in time

you need an oil cooler,the box produces heat because it has a torque convertor not just the heat produced by gears etc as in a manual box

hose is how much? transmission is how much? which is easier to afford/buy?

Independant can now get a hose,

Main dealer can't

At least its available
