I had the shock of my life yesterday...
I thought I'd price up a new windscreen myself save going through my insurance. Two companies gave me a similer price of of £140 for the windscreen (fitted) and £125 for the set of seals, and to top it off they hadn't even included the VAT!!!!

Needless to say, I phoned my insurence up and happily handed over £65.

Word of warning to you people who haven't included windscreen cover when they took their policy out!

You might as well have paid the original price because your ins. premium will be raised next renewal for making the claim.

That's nothing, I was quoted £450 for the front screen on my D1, autoglass, fitted.

I'm getting screen cover this year because the chip repair weren't much good.

£450??? Jeez!!! I'm sure they just put their hand in a bowl of numbers and fish out some numbers and give you that for a price!

i had a crappy fiat brava couple of years back with a broken screen phoned autoglass they said £465.00 phoned around got it done for £120.00
