right yesterday i posted saying having troubles with my 200tdi after fuel filter change,i bleed the system so got fuel coming out the injectors, I also charged the battery up all night just in case it was a little low on power gone to start it this afternoon and and it goes to start but cuts out as soon as it fires ups, tried jumping it as well off my old mans volvo but still no joy :( would towing it or jumping it while rolling help, or is it something else? im really scratching my head now for ideas on what it could be any help would be gratefully received :)

told to bleed the fuel system from filter then all the way to the injectors, check the lift solenoid is working by taking the wire off and checking it clicks

is there any splits in the injector leak off pipes, also is there a good seal around the fuel filter. Lastly however i supect i'm wrong are the elbows ontop of the tank in good order with no splits,or cracks?

yea pipes are all fine and look like new now cleaned them up, possible the filter then as looking at it now its doesnt seem to fit flush like the one i took off, its got a lip of bout 20mm all way round

OK. Could it be the ignition switch. Sounds daft I know but they do suffer from failure. The reason I state this is that you turn the key and it starts but then stops, presumably when you release the key.

Could be the fuel cut off solenoid. Have you checked that power is getting to it when the ignition is on.

Afraid that's all I can offer in terms of ideas.

Yea when let go of the key it cuts out, check the fuel solenoid yesterday and works fine. I'm seriously starting to scratch my head with it worked fine up till now

see what green hornet is saying. basicly the contacts in the ing switch could be iffy. so the fuel stop is opening when ing is on, but when you turn to start and release it could be going to far back and turn the fuel stop off again. So when you start the engine have a volt meter hooked up to the fuel stop and look at the reading. Once the engine fires and you allow the key to spring back a click look at the reading again, if the voltage drops to 0 then you know that the ing switch is cutting the fuel stop off.

All I can think is that the cause is any changes you made since it last run.
If you have the old parts try refitting them, one at a time, and see if there is any improvement.
New parts can be faulty

Yea I'm going to try a new fuel filter and re bleed the system again, as will try testing the fuel ing switch to see if it shutting it off when let good the key.
