noticed the front passenger seat vibrated heavily at speeds over 55...would this be the rear wheel balancing..asi had 2 new front tyres fitted two weeks ago for the mot..

If you just had 2 new fronts fitted and now have vibration that is where I would be looking. Bad balancing is common, check they are seated on the rims properly and evenly al the way round, or maybe you have a duff new tyre.

Front wheel imbalance is usually felt through the steering wheel. Rear wheel imbalance is normally felt through the vehicle itself, so this could be a sensible place to start your investigation.

Make sure all wheel nuts are secure too. (Don't ask me how I know ......)

Remove the damn batteries and it will stop vibrating

does it matter if the vibration is at all speeds or just a set speed- i have some wobble at exactly 60mph..?? could it be uneven a rear tyre wear??

Wheel imbalance is usually felt within a definite speed range, eg. my own Landy vibrates at about 50-55mph but smooths out above and below that speed. (I've noticed that I've lost some balance weights from one of my wheels so it should be easily sorted.)

A damaged tyre (bulges, bits missing etc) could have a similar effect. I've also read somewhere that drive shafts sometimes need to be balanced but have no personal experience myself.

Seems to me your easiest bet might be to start by getting your nearest friendly tyre fitters to balance your wheels and then take it from there.

My passenger seat did same thing at 55, dumped the Pirelli STR's for General Grabber AT2, problem gone, although just a proper balance of all wheels would probably have cured it.
