Hi everyone, I am soon to embark on an expedition to Ghana in my v8 3.5 110 hardtop Land Rover and have read that I should take a spare alternator also that if I am using high energy goods such as a fridge etc, which I am then I need the 65 amp alternator. What I am thinking was using the 45 amp one Ihave now as the emergency spare and then upgrading to a higher amp alternator. I was also wonder whether I can use any high amp alternator, such as a 2nd hand 100 amp nippondenso or one say from a totally different make of car. So with this in mind, what alternators do you recommend and are there any special modification instructions?

Thank you very much for the help!

Well its got to fit the engine mountings unless your wanting to fabricate your own.

Its like any part really you need to get the one for that engine.

It would be a good idea to have a spare, and a high current one installed.

Google Craddocks or Paddocks and look there for new parts.
