Im getting 'alternator fault' come up on my dash when i come back to the car and its hot (ie been left in the sun) . This goes away when i take the keys and retry the ignition.
Is this a common fault or am i looking at another serious costly problem

sounds like a dodgy connection somewhere, the heat is affecting resistance, check all your earths
