I stupidly didn't mark where the hinges were on the bonnet when I took it off to swap the engine, and now I can't seem to get it back on in line to close properly.

Will it just be a case of trial and error moving it about till it fits now or is there an easier way?

There's a spring washer and large washer on each bolt, no shimms.

yes trail and error, if you cant see were bolts sat in relation to the hinge, but shut it carefully each time , you can use 8mm washers as shims between hinge strap and bonnet if it sits low at the rear

Hmm there should be some sort of mark from where it sat before, it was dark by the time I got to putting the bonnet on so couldn't see a whole lot .. I'll have a look at it in light.

There was marks from where the washers were previously, lined them all up and all seems OK now, a bit stiff but not used for a month or so, sprayed it with a load of wd 40.
