The factory fitted alarm isn't working but the immobiliser is. The indicators don't flash when arming and according to the hand book this is because a door is open. They are all closed :( How can I fix this. What model of alarm was fitted to a 2002 Td5 Defender?

Look down behind the passenger headlight and you will find the alarm unit. My guess is that it will be unplugged. When you plug it in and press the fob to arm the alarm I am also guessing the horn will sound twice to say there is a door open. Again I predict that it will either be the bonnet or boot door sensor at fault. If you cannot fix the problem you can simply unplug the faulty sensor and it will fool the alarm into thinking that sensor is working.

The alarm will be a 10as unit and will be a 270 model if your landy doesn't have central locking or a 280 unit if it does.

Many thanks Ratty. I've had a quick look in the dark and can see a siren unit and a siren but nothing else. There are two wires with plugs on at the bottom though so looks like a good place to start.

That's all you will see. The 10as unit is behind the dash.
