Went away last week, and came back to a flat battery (car was not used for six days) 1999 TD5 diesel auto . I thought this was a bit odd as had a new battery only 2/3 months ago. Jump started fine, but was dead again the next day, so got the battery charger out several hours later back in action. I then got alternator checked and all fine. Since the second time of the battery going flat I have locked the car using the lock under the assumption it could be the alarm draing the battery but using the fob to open the doors. I went to the car last night and I thought I would see if it would start, but this time used the key in the door lock to open the door then press the door open button on the key fob to deactivate the immobiliser. The odd thing is it did not then open all the other door locks. I then put the key in the ignition and within a second the hazard lights kept flashing, and this keeps happening. I have also connected the battery via jump leads to my wifes Kia Sedona just to make sure the car was getting enought juice, but still nothing. I have also tried the Emergency Key Access code (confirmed by Landrover Dealer for free, I was utterly amazed), but the car does not even recognise the start of this process ie the horn sounding once, or display an incorrect entry. The final spanner in the works so to speak is the ignition barrel has been changed at some point so uses a different key to the door so not sure if this will have an impact.
