Today I am investigating my Aircon, The Pump doesn't kick in when I switch it on

In the engine compartment we have the Aircon fuse (No 9) but there are no numbers on the fuse cover so which fuse is No9 and is there One missing here?

The pump won't kick in if the gas is low. If the air con hasn't been used in a while it will need re gassing. When you push the switch you should be able to see a drop in revs as the clutch kicks in, only briefly though. If it does this take it to Kwik fit for a recharge. Bonus is, if it doesn't work they won't charge you.

Thanks Mike, I took it to Kwik Fit for a re-gas as you suggested.. No Charge (Literally) as they couldn't fix it - there is a leak.

Next Wednesday the chap who can do a Diagnostics routine will be there so I can take it back then for him to tell me which part is leaking (£35).

Oh, and earlier today I was trying to take the Black plastic top off of the air con pipe that's right in front of you when you open the bonnet - the valve assembly unscrewed with my fingers ! there is an 'o' ring in there so that rang alarm bells

Tighten it up and take it to a different kwik fit for a re gas.
