hi a light came up on the heating dash (a book with a !) i took it that the air con needed regasing so have had this done but the light wont go away. what is the fault or how do i let the car no regasing has been done?

There are many reasons why the cheque book symbol comes on. Best to get someone with a suitable code reader to plug in and see what's going on.

Testbook lamp does not usually come on when gas is low.

The usual problem that causes the book symbol is blend motors. Gas or lack of it never caused the book symbol on mine.

It will force the symbol on if the gas is really low. when I removed the condensor to fit the new cam the symbol came on. Went off again after kwikfit did their thing.

Mine came on when the traditional hole in the top of the condenser appeared and the gas leaked out.Went out after replacing and regassing.
Mind you the Hevac can record over 50 faults,but not all will turn on the book symbol though

No gas in mine when I got it and no symbol. Pre 99 and post 99 HEVAC controls are different.
