Act now to avoid being fingerprinted for a pint!
A Home Office-backed and instigated fingerprinting pubs scheme is being expanded from Yeovil to Coventry, Hull, Sheffield, Leeds, Gwent, Nottingham, Taunton and possibly Swindon.
Drinkers in Yeovil have their thumbprints scanned before they enter seven participating pubs. They must also supply their name, address and date of birth when they enrolled onto the system.
If you are in any of the towns affected, especially Yeovil, and are willing to do something then browse to NO2ID
It appears that Yeovil council have coerced some pubs into cooperation by threatening to revoke their licence, so we've asked one of the large beer-drinker's organisations if they'd do something about this - and they agreed.
