Hi, I have a 1975 land rover series 3, but my accelerator has gap when I put my foot on it before it actually revs the engine, there's about an inch of play in it does any one know how I can fix this problem?

Rod or cable linkage? both have some adjustment. If a rod linkage look at the cross bar that runs at the back of the bulkhead, these wear on there guides and flap around giving a lot of lost motion. I turned and fitted bronze bushes to tidy mine up.
