I have a (slow) oil leak from.my compressor, tho' refrigerant seems to hold. Has anyone seen/ used a replacement seal kit for one? My unit is a rebadged sanden trs105. I have made a few enquiries from a Google search, but nothing doing

I had one let go on me. The oil is in the refrigerant so it all soon followed for a sticky mess on the LHS of the engine. I just bought a new Sanden compressor as the easiest fix.

try ebay - i bought a seal kit from a guy in the usa for a denso 10ap15
 
Tnx guys. Alan, are you saying that the 10ap15 parts fit the trs105 ( ie coming off a 98 4.6 Gems)? Sounds like a good option if so

No, just saying that there will be someone out there selling seal kits but probably not in the uk.
I think most uk aircon firms prefer to sell us end users a new compressor and don't want to sell us the parts to fix them ourselves.
They want to keep it as some sort of dark art but I have fitted new condensors and driers on several of my cars, bmw e39, mk3 granada, P38, saab 9-3 and then had them re-gassed at kwik-fit - no charge if there is a leak.
Similarly I have sourced a pulley bearing and clutch coil for my denso compressor from the USA.
The 10pa15 is a Denso compressor and yours is a Sanden but i'm sure you can find parts if you look hard enough.
 
Also curiously enough, my 4.6 p38 thor has the same Denso 10pa15 compressor as my mk3 granada 2.0 dohc
The only difference is the bolt on cast manifold for the pipe connections.
Ford did own JLR in the past.

Tnx Alan. I've looked in the US and came across ackits.com, who seem to have the bits ( traded mails with them). I guess as sanden is a US Co then more chances there, as you say, the UK guys I tried wanted to sell me a 180 pound recon (ed) Compressor. US will end up charging me import duty tho, and won't be returnable, so I was hoping to find a UK source. I'll look at the German option though, thanks.

Rob,
There seems to be a few selling the shaft seal kits, but you will also need the large O ring seals for the body of the compressor as well, as I wouldn't guarantee the old seals would still seal again properly once you had it apart, but you might be lucky.
The US suppliers will probably supply the tool to fit the shaft seal over the shaft as well as the correct oil to lubricate the seals - the kit I had had all of the necessary seals.

Tnx Alan, I've tried shop century air already, but they don't stock for my model unfortunately. You've reminded me about the special tool, I'll need to grab me one of those too
