My gran had her arm broken by a pavement 'cyclist' therefore we should ban
bicles too. Taking their safety logic to it's extreme- getting out of bed is
dangerous!

Most motoring accidents are not accidents they are examples of bad driving.

So it could be argued that all or most motoring accidents are avoidable.

Perhaps the drivers who cause the accidents should be banned.

My old Rover 218 has multi wheel drive (2 wheels) and uses a
differential gear mechanism between the two front wheels ....

What does the transmission have to do with accident prevention anyway?

Well said Tim, an accident can be caused by anything, a four legged drive
horse for instance, or, maybe a four legged dog.

A further possibility for causing accidents is a four wheeled car. The fact
that all four wheels cant be driven in a four wheel (2 wheel drive car) at
the same time makes for a poor argument.

Shall we all start driving 3 wheelers??
