got the s3 on stands at the moment, least I know the od works :D

had it in low ratio, drivers wheel turns much more slowly than the passenger side, I am assuming that isn't normal?
 
Yep, it's normal, controlling factors are any brake drag, or even a slightly tighter bearing. Remember you have a differential front and rear so the power goes to the easiest side to turn.

A quick adjustment of the brakes should see it even out a bit more (losen the slow wheel just a tad, but first try using the brakes a few times to let the shoes settle and see if that makes the speed more equal.
