V8 Vouge

I finished the top end rebuild last weekend after overheating issues. All back together and started up after a few turns.
Cured the overheating problem.
The problem I have now is the engine is quite lumpy and does not want to rev well and down on power.
I have checked over everything to make sure I've not missed a connector. All looks good. Checked firing order, all ok.
Any ideas would be a great help.

did you keep pushrods in order?

Hi, yes I did. I keep thinking if I have put everything back together properly. The engine sounds great and tight.
I might pull off the inlet manifold and check the gasket.
It runs like the air/fuel mixture is not right.

Has anyone tried this kit eBay 150656028772. Sorry don't know how to post links.

The EAS side of the deal is the same as Datatek sells with his lead for about £20 if I remember rightly, the EasyOBDII software is only $18 direct from the developer for the full version, plus there's a free ware version which will do what you need. Don't know why there are two Diagnostic Port to serial leads supplied - (Different wiring for EAS and engine diags?) perhaps Datatek knows?

I wouldn't say it's outstanding value but it'll do the job and has pretty LandRover stickers on everything!

Yep, EAS and other diagnostics often use different cables. EAS cable & Cd £11 plus £3.91 P&P from me, CD includes airbag replacement guide and a copy of RAVE:)

V8 vogue whereabouts are you, if you post your location there maybe someone with a nano com or multiple vehicle faultmate local.

Why not produce an engine diag lead too with a freeware copy of EasyODBII?

That guy is charging £69 for two similar leads, some freeware software + $18 worth of commercial software. (only required for the logging and realtime dashboard.)

You could ship two leads, EASUnlock, the freeware version of EasyODBII on your CD for £25. A margin increase for you and damn good value!

When I had my P38 I was looking into the free EasyOBDII software - I don't think it is fully compatible with the P38, as the P38 doesn't strictly use the common OBDII diagnostic protocols....

OBDII is OBDII, unfortunately there are quite a few communication protocols, my off-the-shelf OBDII reader works fine with my Thor P38 as it supports ISO9141 - which is supposedly what the P38 "speaks". I've got an old OBDII scanner which doesn't work but then it doesn't list ISO9141 so I wouldn't expect it to.

Perhaps I should download easyodbii and see if it works - problem is my brother has borrowed my car!

Only the engine ECU is OBDII (EOBD) compatible - the rest of the car isn't!!

Thanks for all the advice. Can anyone recommend the best place to get OBU2 cable and software from?
I'm in Hoddesdon Hertfordshire if anyone is close to me and could help me out there will be a beer in it for them!

I have enough trouble with people who can't use the EAS software, I don't have the spare time or the familiarity to deal with all the comebacks on the Easy OBD which only deals with some ECU's. I could also do a USB version of the cable, I have made one, but again too many problems with drivers to be worth my while. I do the EAS cable on pretty much a no profit basis, charity only goes so far:)
