Have just been out checking the levels and have found that the engine oil is low but there is no leaks anywhere to be found it's not smoking or making any noise it shouldn't do where could it be going any ideas greatly appreciated

When was the last time you checked it ? Some oil loss is normal over time\use.

I've only a limited experience of the petrol variant but front cover and crankshaft seals seem to be fairly prone to failure from what I've seen! If nothing there you aren't doing badly!

the problem l had was the guy supposed to be qualified lpg fitter lost the breather pipe that goes from the rocker cover to the air intake so he made one which due to the bends it needed was kinked it was using a litre to 500 miles and left a pool everywhere u parked it whilst fiiting a proper air cleaner box l found the pipe put it on now it has almost dried up used about a litre to 2500 mile so we are getting there and it runs a lot smoother so have a look at the breather pipes mine a thor engine 4,0

All engines should use a bit of oil.

Odd how they differ though. I reckon my DT uses about a pint every 4000 miles. My old Omega used about a thimble full every 5000. An old cavalier needed a pint for each tank of fuel!
