Well Ive had my 4.6 back 10 days or so from my (budget?) engine rebuild, Ive done aroud 600 miles and is superb !! :D
Had a couple of teething problems, it had a very slight hesitation at motorway cruising speed, like a "bumping" feeling, replaced plugs and leads with NGK BPR6ES and heavy duty 8mm leads from P38 spares and its now perfect. Just replacing these items also added 150rpm to the tickover, which is now silky smooth.
Will give it an oil and filter change when it reaches 1000 miles.

It's been 12 months since my rebuild and have only had to change the ht leads too, brilliant so far, touch wood...

That's good news!!
I'm sure I will be following the path of budget rebuild soon, I've not had chance to do any more investigating, I want to check/change both the water pump and radiator, if they don't cure the pressurizing then heads off to do final inspection before going the whole hog and top hat block.
As it stands I've got pressure but no major use of water, it only over heated the once and blew all the water out (which tends to make me think the worst!) I changed the stat as it was damaged/not working properly, I'm not sure if the damage was due to previous owner trying to mask the obvious problems......

Good luck with your engines, I will keep watching for the updates!
