Bought a 200tdi rear prop today as the rubber doughnut on my lifted n reg 300 is starting to perish. I thought it would have been a straight swap but after looking at them both its obvious that the flange on the diff is different.

Would a 200tdi flange fit the 300tdi?

Ive read that you can use the flange + spacer from the front of diff of a 300. Is this correct?

Or can you buy the flange and spacer new relatively cheaply?

you can use flange from a 200 and the spacer or buy flanges is frc3002 spacer is 539745,3 bolt flange and later 4 bolt flanges have spacer as part of flange

Gwyn lewis do a complete drive flange kit for about 40quid.

it helps to put grease in rear off seal; to hold garter spring in place if tapping seal in ,torque of nut has nothing to do with pinion bearing preload thats done with selectable shims between the 2 bearings ,obviously needs to be tight
