Hi All:

I have a 95 110 defender and I am new to the 300 tdi. I am tweaking the pump, but am advised against putting in a new turbo as the had gaskets may not be able to handle the increase in power over time.

Not trying to make a hot rod out of her, but just wondering if there any aftermarket heads that are stronger and could help the TDI to last?

new turbo or uprated.. not sure what you on about tbh re the head gaskets

300 head as strong as 200 head, but 300 is very vulnerable when the coolant level drops as some plonker thought fitting the water pump high up was a good idea!
Bell autos do a vgt.

afaik, that would be the army.. they demanded easy replaceable water pumps

Didn't think the army took a lot of tdis cus they couldn't fit 24v?

not 100% on this, but i think they used a lot of 2.5 n/as and 300tdis. the 300s are in all the wolfs
