Hi all

In these past few days i discovered the "wonderfull" world of trying to find a parcel shelf for the 3 door version of my freelander, and as many of you are already aware, not only is it difficult to find one, they arent cheap even in not the best conditions. Even found a guy that makes copies in glass fiber (with no lock, just cover and in Portugal where i'm from for those that might be interested here it is)

However, my plan to buying an original one would be to have it work and protect my trunk but im unsure if i were to buy a second hand one, if i could replace the lock (because im gonna assume getting a parcel shelf WITH the keys is not gonna happen).

So i ask you all, if you know or have tryed that before, how feasable replacing the lock on the parcel cover is.

Also, on another note, i was wondering if anyone has any images on how it even locks to the body of the car, tried to find mounting instructions or manual diagrams or anything but no luck.

Theres one on eBay but I don’t think it’s genuine as i think genuine ones had cup holders in them and I can’t see much of a locking mechanism on it so not sure if it helps: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/257067186754
