I know this topic is well discussed and documented but I can't quite find the answer I'm after, my uncles disco has the 3 amigos problem, and it keeps getting stuck in our yard on the gravel spinning the passenger front wheel, does this point that it's the abs sensor on this wheel that's the faulty one? It's basically in one wheel drive!
Thanks!

It seems like an ECU missbehaviour,... as jamesmartin said the best route is to read the codes instead of searching in blind. Untill then u can try the following: take out the ABS fuse F11 from engine bay fusebox ...this will stop the ABS ECU to apply brakes to wheels when it's not supposed to if that's the problem... It might be a SLS warning too if still fitted but dont bother with it ..if there's no leak along the system it will stay on level for days..at least untill u will sort out this ABS fault

I'm pretty sure the brakes aren't coming on, it's just as it starts to go up the slope of the yard with a slight bit of weight on the front wheel just spins and nothing else happens, with a heavy trailer on earlier it started spinning the front wheel on a Tarmac road.I was hoping it was just going to be a sensor needed cleaning or replacing but it sounds a bit scary and expensive now! I'll break the news to him in the morning :p

90% of abs problems is the n/s/f abs sensor get the genuine one and replace the wiring loom all way back to the ecu under the passanger side of the dash bored. could also be a faulty hub bearing or abs shuttle valve

The fact that just one wheel is spinning corroborated with the 3 amigos means that the TC is working on the other wheels and fails to apply brake on the spinning wheel.... the system is conceived as to disable the TC if it detects an ABS sensor fault.... though there is the possibility that the sensor on that wheel is faulty and the system doesnt detect that wheel spinning....normally in this case it's supposed to inhibit the TC on the other wheels too. Another trick u can try is to unplug the sensors on both front wheels... in this case if there is just the passenger's side sensor faulty, then the system will not get inputs from the other wheel neither so it will not put brake on it and both wheels must spin. In this case u'll get a drivers side sensor fault too on tester but u'll know that's not real.

Ok thanks mate I understand alot better now! He also tells me now that the lights came on after he gently pushed through some bracken down the field on this side, is this coincidental or could it have disturbed something silly? just trying to explore all options before it has to go into a garage! :) cheers!

Then check if the sensor is still in place or not accidentaly unplugged... anyway to make it driveable, (if it's a sensor, not some more complicated issue) u can unplug the other sensor and then both wheels will spin.
