you will only find out when you have a diagnostics
check on your defender,the test costs about 30 quid
but hopefully it will find the fault.

Thanks for your help Stan, managed to get diagnostic done yesterday which threw up a fault with the ABS pump. The fault cleared but after stopping & restarting the 'three amigo's' were back to haunt me. The advice given was to have the pump reconditioned for £300 rather than fork out £1200 on a replacement, before I book it in to be done we're going to check fuses/wiring to the pump. Strangely enough there was a 110 up on the ramps, in for the same problem !! Regards, Jacqui

is WHY land rover put all the electronic gizmos on
their vehicles in the first place.traction control,hill
descent,& such,the low ratio box does these functions
anyway,& abs is sometimes dangerous in mud & snow.

Thank you Stan, I don't know what's happening to Landrover as a company !!! Their range of vehicles baffles me (not to mention the looks) & the very vehicle that put them on the map is to be discontinued!! It was all a lot simpler when the 'proper' Landrover had three gear sticks- the black one, the red one & the yellow one, & if you were very technical , free wheel hubs !! Those were the days !!!
