now then geezers, does anyone know if the two switches are in the same ball park in terms of the pressure that switches the light on? as ive got an adaptorp for the oil pressure guage which fits into the switch hole, but a TDI switch doesent fit in it and the 2.25d switch does, obviously ill have the guage aswell but id rather the light wasnt always/never on and annoying.

As the basis of the two engines are the same i would think that the oil switch should work fine they usually come on at about 8psi IIRC . So unless someone can supply you with more definate info I would try it out , you will soon see if the light comes on on Idle hot (which it is most likely to worry you ) If you watch on start up you will get some idea if it differs from your normal switch light out time. HTSH

having the guage will confirm satisfactory operating parameters

tacr2man is correct .ive done it quite a few times when fitting series oil filter housings to 200 conversions

sorry for the ignorance, but why would you fit a series filter housing to a TDI? mines fine with the TDI filter housing?
