I want to swap my 200Tdi Defender 90 rear axle from drums to a disc axle, can i use a Salisbury or Disco item and is this a straight swap? All help gratefully received

disco axle is a straight swap, and one which i would strongly recommend.

From what i have heard the salisbury needs a different prop (apparently a RR or disco front one is correct) and new spring cups, but otherwise goes on fine.

IF you find that your axle has a 3 bolt flange on the input to it, fret not cos they are actually quite easy to change an alll.

fashion a puller out of some nuts, a bolt and some spanners and a socket, pull the nose out the middle, un bolt the flange.

Get a 24 spline input flange, AND THE SPACER TO GO BEHIND IT and bolt it on! You will probably find that your old axle has only a 4 spline input on it.
