hi need help. My 2005 td6 l322 auto wouldn't start. Fitted new battery which didn't help. After some fiddling have realised it will start in neutral but not park. When in park the screen is showing P. Can anyone advise me before I send it of to the local Range Rover dealer at £70 an hour !!!

You would usually put this down to an inhibitor switch issue (which is hidden away in the sump on the 5L40-E, so not as easy to access as for the petrol models where it’s bolted to the outside of the casing) but this seems unlikely if P is being displayed on the instrument panel. Might be worth checking the selector cable adjustment first?
