can someone do me a big favour and post a picture of the plug on selector switch next to the gearbox, i am convinced that mine is not closed enough.

thats the bit, could hardly recognise it, it was so shiny and new.
need a close up though. i think i will buy some grips in the morning and give it a squeeze and put a cable tie on it... cheers sierrafery
